Repair

Damaged your favorite piece of equipment? Here is an overview of our capabilities and indication of the cost to get it repaired.

We have a base fee of €10.- for unwrapping/rolling and re-packing a clean, sand free, bar/kite/wing on top of the prices per repair.
The fee will be €40.- for wet/very sandy gear to be cleaned before we can start a repair. The cost for untangling lines/bridles depends on how much time it costs to untangle.

Kite bars

Besides mounting a complete new set of flying lines we have the tools to replace every rope on the kite bar from leader lines to the depower cord and even the elastic flagout lines lines.

If you damage a fairly new set line it’s often possible to reinforce the damaged lines or shorten them if you damage/cut them close to the end.

  • Shortening lines: €6.- per loop
  • Flagout line: €20.-
  • replacing depower cord: €40.-

Bridle lines

  • 0-1m €7.50 per line
  • 1-2m €9.00 per line
  • 2-3m €10.50 per line
  • 3-4m €12.00 per line
  • 4-5m €13.50 per line
  • 5-6m €15.00 per line

On foil kites and Paragliders we can often make the bridle lines in place so there is no need to disassemble the entire bridle.
On tube kites we recommend to change the left and right sections simultaneously to ensure the kite remains flying straight over time as there can be a difference between old and new lines in regards of elasticity and shrinkage and due to low amount of bridle lines tube kites are more sensitive to any difference between left and right bridle lines.

Foil kites / Paragliders

Due to the double surface structure of most Foil kites and Paragliders they need to be opened to be able to sew the damaged parts back together, this makes the repair more time consuming and expensive.
Small tears on the outer surface often don’t need sewing as they are not load bearing and under low tension plus they can be patched on the inner surface where they are less likely to come off.

  • patching with rip-stop tape (no sewing) €5.- per tear
  • Small tear with free access (no opening needed) €20.-
  • Teared rib, strap or surface where we need to up the wing €40.-
  • Repair on the rib or straps around around a bridle point: €60.-

Tube kites / Wings

These single surface tube Kites and Wings have a higher tension in their surfaces, combined with more chance of getting wet it’s better to stitch every patch on a tear to prevent it from coming loose.

  • Small tear up to 10cm €20.-
  • 10-40cm straight tear €30.-
  • longer and/or complex tears €50.-

Bladders can be sealed / patched when there is a small leak. We do have access to most valves to be replaces when damaged, but beware that if they need replacing because of delamination often all valves need to be replaced.
Also it’s often not worth the hassle to try and find all the tiny holes in a bladder after it crashes into a thorny bush, better to replace the bladder with a new one then.

We are looking for a strong machine to close the LE seam, until then we only so repairs on the surfaces and bladders, not the Leading edge and struts.
